Palm Kernel Shell Charcoal

In Nigeria, we have access to tens of thousands of hectares of oil palm estate that guarantees a constant supply stream of palm kernel shell as raw material all year round. Our own industrial retort burning kilns are used to produce and supply with consistent quality.

As a raw material for fuel briquettes, palm shells offer the same calorific characteristics as coconut shells. Palm shell charcoal are characterized with high energy content that is released slowly during combustion owing to its complex fiber matrix structure. Its smaller shell size makes it easier to carbonize for mass production, and its resulting palm shell charcoal can be pressed into a heat efficient bio-fuel briquette.

CHARACTERISTICS/SPECIFICATION  : 

Size is between 2mm and 8mm. 

Gross Calorific Value is very high at about 7,400kcal/kg. 

Fixed Carbon Content is between 73% and 85%

Volatile matter ranging between 8% and 18%, 

Ash Residue (non hazardous waste) is between 6% and 8%

Moisture Content between 3% and 5%. 

Sulphur Content is about 0,02% (very low compare to regular coke).
